ROBOTICS CLASS REQUIREMENTS

1 - DEVICES : Kindly be informed that the recommended devices/specifications for the class include:

• Windows PC/ MACbook
• 8GB Ram / 256 SSD 
• Core i5 - i7

2 - SOFTWARE: The web link below provides access to the different versions of the software installation files for the Robotics class, depending on the kind of device or computer your kid is using for this tech program.

Kindly look through the available 5 versions on the site, download and install as applicable to your student's device. If none of the 5 versions available on the site works for the device your student is using (which I really doubt),then I'll strongly advise that you please help get another device that will work with any of the versions for them. 

3 - ROBOTICS KIT

We have made arrangements to begin to guide our robotics students into building actual physical robots beginning with our Techclub classes in December this year through April 2023. 

While we plan on having in-person demo sessions in April next year where the students will have opportunities to showcase their capstone robotics projects and possibly earn rewards/accolades, we will commence the demo sessions virtually from next month down till March 2023 and then meet up at a designated venue in Edmonton Alberta April next year for the in-person demo sessions and live exhibitions of projects.

The monthly virtual demo sessions will run from 10am - 1pm (MST) every third Saturday of the month from December 2022 to April 2023, same time 10 am to 1 pm MST, every 3rd Saturday of the month.

In view of the above, interested participants in the robotics demo sessions will be required to procure the needed robotics kits to make the most of the demo sessions. The following Robotics kits are recommended:

PS: If your kid(s) already have either of the above Robotics kit or something similar, there’s no need for further purchase, they can as well join the upcoming demo classes.

CODING - PYTHON CLASS REQUIREMENTS

These two must be downloaded

• Pycharm: https://www.jetbrains.com/pycharm/download/#section=windows. The Community version should be downloaded
• Python: https://www.python.org/downloads/ 

We will be pausing the PYTHON Class after this month (i.e. from December 2022) until our Summer Camp (TECHPLUS 2023) - if we have the Financial Support to keep running the program.

MEDIA CLASS :

We are cancelling this Media class  for now because of low students' registration for this program. If we have more students showing interest we will open it during our Summer Camp (TECHPLUS 2023)

For those joining our monthly classes on the third Saturdays of the month, kindly inform the Student ahead of Saturday morning, so they are mentally prepared for the session. Please ensure their computers are charged and have all the necessary software.
